The jury went through a thorough selection process. On our notifications from film freeway.

FINALIST: Your film is a nominee for an award in any of the categories in the festival.

NOT SELECTED: Implies your film did not make it to the nominees list because of one or more of the following:

  1. Your film met all regulations of the festival and it went through the two step jury selection process however it is not nominated for any awards.
  2. Your film meet festival standards, either it was not in African Languages by at least 70% or majority of the dialogue, Or it did not have subtitles,
  3. Your film was notdone by 50% of cast and Crew from Africa,
  4. Your film was a TV drama/series (we do not accept tv dramas or series),
  5. The quality of your film was low or highly pixelated.

LIPFF 2020 CALL FOR ENTRIES

The LIPFF 2020 Call for entries is open from 1st March 2020 to 31st May 2020.

The focus for this year is “Changing the African Narrative” and we shall have workshops and Panel Discussions in line with this. We will be excited to have engaging discussions on how film can change the African Narrative in telling our stories, in our ways.

The festival will have various categories for submission: Feature films, Documentaries, Short Films, Animation, and Student Feature Films.

  • Screenings of Jury selected films,
  • panel discussions,
  • Film workshops,
  • Open Forums,
  • Exhibitions,
  • networking forums,
  • excursions and
  • Gala Awards Ceremony.
